Cinnamon Spice & All Things Nice Bliss Balls

I love bliss balls and generally I like to stick to recipe’s without dried fruits, but today’s batch has been the exception! This recipe has dates as the sweetness.
Dates are very high in sugar, albeit fruit sugar with fibre so better for you than white sugar but still if you are looking for things that will help weight loss (I’m assuming you are) these “bliss balls” will not necessarily help. Dates are 67% sugar (i.e., of 100g of dates, 67g of that is sugar).
But hey a sweet treat on the odd occasion is not a bad thing! Better than eating a transfat filled donut, ay!

1 cup of almonds (soak overnight & rinse)

12 pitted dates (soak if you don’t have a strong processor)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cardarmon
1/2 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp Chinese 5 spice
1/4 tsp clove powder
Add all ingredients into the food processor and process until a fine crumb. If it’s too dry to roll into balls add 2 tsp water and process a few more seconds until it starts to clump. Roll into balls – makes about 10 balls.
