Yvette was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. Like many people, she trusted the medical path laid out for her and did everything she was advised to do. This included chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, further surgery, and hormonal therapy, which she was told would protect her from the cancer returning.
In 2022, the cancer spread to her brain. Once again, she underwent surgery and radiation. When it returned for a third time in her brain, she was told the tumour was either inoperable or that surgery would leave her severely debilitated and possibly unable to walk independently.
As a single mother of three, this prognosis did not sit right with her.
For the first time, Yvette chose not to accept the medical outlook as the only truth. She began reading and researching, searching for hope beyond fear. During this time, she discovered Dr Kelly Turner’s book Radical Remission, which brought her relief and a renewed sense of empowerment. It introduced the idea that healing could be something she actively participated in, rather than something that simply happened to her.
She began focusing on reducing stress, softening her nervous system, reconnecting with joy, and learning to love her body back to health. Two of the three new brain lesions disappeared, reinforcing her belief that healing was possible beyond conventional expectations.
In November 2023, when she later received a terminal diagnosis due to the remaining lesion progressing, Yvette already knew something important. She had seen what her body was capable of and refused to let fear dictate her future. She stepped away from work and devoted herself fully to exploring what true health and vitality meant for her.
In 2024, Yvette experienced a powerful shift. Two consecutive MRI scans showed no evidence of disease. Alongside this physical improvement, she gained something that could never be taken away from her. A deep trust in her innate healing ability and a belief that nothing was truly incurable.
Although her physical health improved, much of this journey had been walked alone. When Yvette joined the Radical Remission workshop, she immediately felt a sense of connection and understanding. For the first time, she was surrounded by others who were open to exploring healing beyond prognosis, combining medical care with emotional, mental, and spiritual support.
The healing factor that resonated most deeply with her was increasing positive emotions and bringing more joy into daily life. She learned to approach healing with curiosity and compassion rather than pressure or perfection.
As with many healing journeys, her path was not linear.
Toward the end of 2025, new brain lesions appeared. After deep reflection and careful consideration, Yvette made the conscious decision in October to begin Enhertu treatment. This choice was not made from fear, but from empowerment. It was a decision to work alongside medicine while continuing to honour her body, her intuition, and the inner healing practices that had already supported her so profoundly.
At the same time, one of the lesions affected nerves involved in her voice and swallowing. This prompted a very quiet and inward start to the year. Yvette slowed right down and recommitted to daily QiGong, meditation, emotional release, healing herbs, and a nourishing diet. She focused intentionally on restoring joy, presence, and connection with herself.
Her voice began to return, something she had been told would never happen on its own.
In February 2026, Yvette shared a deeply encouraging update. Enhertu was doing wonders, and her most recent scans showed great results that her oncologist described as nothing short of a miracle. She continues her daily QiGong practice, lives by the 10 Healing Habits, and feels positive and grounded as she steps fully into 2026.
Yvette’s story is not about choosing between medicine and healing from within. It is about integration. It is about self trust, informed choice, emotional healing, mindset, community, and remembering that we are never powerless participants in our health.
We are honoured that Yvette will be joining the next Radical Remission workshop live to share her story directly with participants. She will speak openly about her journey, the moments that shifted everything for her, and the big aha insights that have shaped how she approaches healing and life today. Her willingness to share so vulnerably is a gift to others who may be standing at the beginning of their own journey.
Her courage, discernment, and unwavering belief in what is possible continue to inspire me deeply. May her story remind others that healing can take many forms, and that hope is always worth holding onto.
